Good morning, all:
I figured I would come to a place with experts when it comes to the road. I honestly don't drive a Semi for a living, but could use some suggestions / advise.
I need to make a trip from Olympia, WA area to Glendale, AZ. I have never gone via US-95, so I don't know if it's a good route, or a long hard route.
From what I can tell, it looks like it is just a 2-lane highway for 90% of the way once I am out of the Mount Hood area.
Can anyone give advise on this route? Are there ample fuel stops? Lack of Cell phone service, etc?
I appreciate any and all suggestions and comments.

Call coverage will be diminished depending on your carrier.
Long way in between fuel stops.
Going down the I-5 to I - 10 is only 96 miles farther and will take you about the same time , if not quicker.
You won't be getting caught up behind summer travelers.
Just need to time it so your not going through LA during peak hours.
Best before 5am or after 7pmOldironfan Thanks this. -
95 would be my preferred route unless I knew I could avoid Sacramento, Tracy, and LA area during peak traffic periods.

When I moved out here a little over 2 years ago, I did the I-90 up over Snoqualmie Pass, across Yakima, in to Idaho, then once I got to Twin Falls, dropped down to Hwy 93 I believe it was that runs in to Wells, NV., Las Vegas, and across the Hoover #### in to Arizona.
That was definitely a desolate drive. I was driving a 2010 Jeep Rubicon pulling a fully loaded U-Haul trailer, and was getting about 8-9 mpg, and the fuel stops were perfect.
This time, I will be driving my `98 Dodge Ram pickup, about 14-16 mpg.
I just hate going routes that I don't know. When I moved here, the only reason I did Hwy-93, was one of my co-workers traveled that to Boise twice a year, so I already somewhat knew what I was in for.Oldironfan Thanks this. -

My preferred route Centralia area to Vegas is I5 down to OR58 to US97. Run state highways from Klamath Falls to Alturas, CA to catch 395 to I80 (Reno head east) then 95 South from Fernley area.
95 south of Ontario OR is nice and open. 95 in ID is on the curvy side and can be steep and touristy. Still very passable in a big truck.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
It doesn't take me anywhere near ID. It hits OR, CA, NV, AZ.
That trip plays out at roughly at 1,337 @ 20h50m with no traffic. Compared to going the Mount Hood, OR route to US-95 (recommended by Google Maps & Mapquest) which is roughly 1,355 @21h59m.
I know that US-395 is fairly well traveled. I don't honestly know about the other Highways along that route, with the exception of I-515 all the way home to Glendale.
Are those other routes I listed fairly well traveled, somewhat flat, and options for Rest Areas, Fueling, Meals, Hotel, etc.? Or will it be mainly mountains and desert?
I figure I am going to have to stop about 1/2 way so I don't tire myself out and put not only myself, but you amazing folks in jeopardy as well. -
All pretty well traveled roads. Towns with fuel, food, pull outs, and lodging all along the way. The climb up OR58 is a long pull but not overly steep, I do it at max weight regularly. Other than that, mostly rolling hills between alpine valleys till you get near Reno where the desert takes over.
Susanville, CA Has hotels and would be a little short of half way. Reno is about the half way mark. First half a little slower because of curves. Second half you can let it roll.
I would recommend the grill inside the Kla MO Ya casino as a meal stop, Also a good fuel stop. Kla-Mo-Ya Casino – Kla-Mo-Ya Casino, Chiloquin, OregonOldironfan Thanks this.
