As the law is written, if you are clocked doing 115km/h you can be charged with not having speed limiter programmed. My truck is wide open. I pay attention to my speed to keep fuel cost down. Not cuz the MTO or safety guy is watching. Drive like a white man and you’ll never have an issue here.

To the members of the forum:
    1)
What are your opinions of Canada's strict laws of NOT allowing NON-Canadian citizens with past DUI convictions into Canada, regardless of how old they are?
    2) Also, should these same strict Canadian laws, concerning past DUI convictions, be put onto the books in the United States, for truck drivers coming into the U.S. from both Canada & Mexico?

    NOTE:
    1)
What little drinking that I did MANY years ago, I TOTALLY gave it up. One can of beer can cause me to register as being LEGALLY intoxicated. My body does NOT have the ability to handle any alcoholic beverages whatsoever. This NOT a lie, NOT an exaggeration, just the plain, cold, hard, HONEST TRUTH.
    2) A LOT of this I found out, the HARD way when serving in the U.S. Navy many years ago, along with a situation, or two, in civilian life.
    3) Just to be on the SAFE side, MANY years ago, I TOTALLY gave up going to any bars, pubs, taverns, or "watering holes" that serve any alcoholic beverages whatsoever. I VERY SELDOM go into a restaurant, or any other type of eatery, that serves any alcoholic beverages whatsoever.
    4) By the absolute, sheer GRACE OF GOD, I have never had a DUI or a DWI. I also REALIZE that I could have VERY EASILY been in the same boat as someone with any DUI's or DWI's on their records.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

For most infractions where a Canadian is charged with an offence and trying to cross the border, they need a waiver from the USA otherwise they're refused entry to the US.

I believe blood alcohol level for ALL road users should be zero. There's enough stupidity out there without adding alcohol/drugs to the mix.

As a Canadian, I don't think it's fair to turn away my trucking brothers from the South, simply due to a DUI, especially one that's years old. It's absurd, actually.

I have a DUI also (the Canadian equivalent) from many years ago, when I was much younger and much dumber.

I did, and still can, truck in the US with that on my record.

It isn't fair, how the system works, but I can't change it.

I will add this though: If you wanna smoke a bit of weed, and have that on yer file? No problems heading North. Heading South could be a problem though!
