Does anyone know about the limited local advertised by US Express?
Has anyone hired on and run this route?

Limited local is anywhere within 150 miles of your home terminal in most cases. I'm 60 miles from Pittsburgh and see the Pittsburgh tractors in town all the time anymore. They're pulling express global pups around here and on occasion a 53'. If you are a local driver you are subjected to the same rules and regs as OTR and this includes logging. All US drivers are required to keep logs, so if you're not proficient at it get there before you go. In most cases if you live near a rail yard then you will be shuttling trailers from there, in a lot of instances they have a drop yard within 20-25 miles of the rail stop.

Sounds like a climbing in and out of the cab, hooking and unhooking, sliding tandems and fifth wheels, etc. Is it mileage pay or hourly pay?

Hey steel wheels, hope you didn't quit your job yet cuz they make you think you have the job before you go and you don't! You will start out with about 75 people in your orientation class and only about 35 of you will actually get the job! Then they will let you sit for 5 hours while they look for an mty and you have elogs on the truck! Also they schedule deliver appts really tight so your luck on showers and food are very minimal... Good luck to you!
