I think us foods is better than mclane. We have a lot of guys where i work that quit and came from mclane. I haven't met any from us foods...that tells you a lot

I’ve worked for both. A lot of former drivers that come from USF like McLane better. I don’t like to dig so I think McLane Foodservice is better not Grocery then US Foods. Pallets are waaaayy more organized then USF. I don’t deal with mom and pops or going up and down stairs my stops are easier to find. I can drop my ramp 80% of the time at the back door. I do more cases and loads are heavier BUT the amount of times you touch those cases at USF it comes to about the same. Also we do less stops. If it goes past a certain amount of stops and cases we get a helper.

The thing about USF that is better is it’s mostly early morning shifts which is a daylight route and even on extraboard you get full weekends off. Most USF is home daily. McLane has more layovers. McLane is tough cause of the schedule being all over place but mostly nights. Sat night is what night you mostly get off cause that’s the only day our warehouse is closed. Unless you get a bid route. We do mostly night drops. Which a lot of people don’t like. I like nights doing this type of job. Empty parking lots are a lot easier especially with a 48”

I think both companies are good companies to work for. Management at both companies were really cool. You definitely get treated better then Freight. Each has their ups and downs nobody’s perfect.
