Anyone driving for them? Recruiter Guy said the company just bought a bunch of '07 Volvo's. Pay starts at. 34/mile for 20k miles then jumps to. 42.
But the kicker is they pay on a 1099 with no health insurance available.
Orientation is one day 1 day in Chicago. They provide room and meal.

USF doesn't exist anymore. YRC bought them out a few years ago. And YRC is broke. So proceed with caution if you are applying to Holland or Reddaway. Rumor has it, YRC wants to sell off everything except Yellow and Roadway. Just a rumor, but know the gamble you are taking.

Paying with a 1099 is an IRS violation in their circumstance . 1nonly is right . The company could be gone tomorrow . They could be hiring because drivers are leaving before that happens . -

I think the OP is talking about a different USF, this one has nothing to do with YRC. It's a small mostly O/O company out of Chi that the guys buy a bunch of trucks and put drivers in. If I remember correctly from when I talked to "John" the recruiter they run wherever but "will get you home every two weeks" and "it's a great place to work too"!!!
They advertise on Craig's list around Tampa all the time....
Good luck! -
they called me too as a co. driver, after reading this, i'm depressed

there is a us freightways in elk grove village. if its the same one you talking about they are not a good place to work i was leased to them and im till owed money from them i know 3 other drivers that told me they are owed money too they push you to run regardless if you have the hours if you are around chicago they have some good paying loads but after that the loads are crap. dispatcher couldnt hardly speak english so they would send a text with the load info when you fueled you had to call and have them turn it on lots of times i had to call late at night and wake them up to have it turned on but still had to wait a hour some times longer.when i was there they didnt have company trucks but dispatchers ahd truckes leased on. yes this one had a 1 day oreintation no pay for it but a motel down the street you had to pay for you had to pay for your lunch they didnt give you anything. the next day after you get your drug screen back then they dispatch you to pick up a load of newspaper inserts going to pa to the post offices 4 to 5 drops then you sit and wait for a load 1 to 3 days. then they get you to go to balitmore to pick up a cheap load. but thats what they do they let you sit until you agree to pickup their cheap loads
jlind Thanks this. -
Yup, that's the one I was talking about, Elk Grove.... not much good to say I think... When I talked to the guy I told him no thanks but he called me 3-4 times after that and pretended he never had talked to me before!!! Finally gave up....

I worked for USF and worked for a owner operator and he was also a dispatcher and he tried dispatching me a few times but he always wanted me to run above my legal hrs. Also the tolls most weeks spent over $300 in tolls and took a month or longer to get paid back. When I wouldn't run illegal i'd sit for most of the week. I finally quit when I didn't get my kast check. Now though no company wil hire me. I regret ever working for USF.
