Hey there, everyone. Some interesting chatter out there from guys on the road. Company that cousin has his truck on with has had 140 applications this month from guys running US side that have said "No more running US side" because of new US Hours of service. Anyone else heard of companies getting flooded with applications from folks giving up US side?

I think everyone needs to just chill out on this a bit. The biggest hang up ( And I DON'T even run the US much anymore ..... ) seems to be the whole 'off between 1AM and 5am' or whatever, once a cycle ........... that is BS and totally open to interpretation. IE - Night drivers, team drivers, etc etc. There will be amendendments (sp ? ) out again soon.

Thanks Speedloader.

That's my biggest issue with the new rules. I can deal with the 30 min break. I just fuel and grab a shower and the break is over.

I prefer to reset by spending two nights off anyway, so I actually appreciate the two 1am-5am rules, and I usually already took a midshift 30 minute off-duty meal break, so the new rules don't really negatively affect me.
I'm lucky though, as my resets are at home.Speedloader Thanks this. -
Yes. Lucky is right. Maritimer's who run back and forth are also OK. The problem lies with those who run further across, and from the 'line', and those who run the maritime 'triangle' routes (Maritimes, New England, Ontario, then Maritimes). Those hours keep you legal in the US, but locally, they keep you from maximizing your time on duty in order to stay US legal. A real pain in the butt. If you're along the line in the Great Plains, Ont, Que,, BC, or The Maritimes ......... no sweat ....... run US rules. It sucks, but suck it up .......... you're legal. It just sucks for the drivers that run far flung from the line or run the line in-frequently.
