I was looking for the physical aptitude testing part, the tranny doesnt bug me, hoping no auto though. I heard the test is a whopper tho. That kind of scared me I cannot carry 70 pounds for any lenght or lift it above my head why should i ever have too? My bag will never weigh that much. And for the duck walking under a trailer, I bend my knees as far as I can and walk, no problem, but I am 5 ft 4 inches so I am on the shorter side of life. I heard enough to scare me away today and to keep me where I am driving a flatbed locally forever and ever...... :(

Mostly all manuals. All new trucks are. A few older autos left lingering around but expect a stick. The physical isn't that hard! As long as your not extremely over weight or just plain weak you won't have any problem. I thought it was a walk in the park. Alot of people fail on the duck walk thing but they were all over weight and couldn't bend down low enough. USX likes in shape drivers I guess.

A friend of mine currently drives for them and though most of their trucks are automatic he mentioned that they are switching over to all manuals and that the newer trucks are all manuals. I do not personally drive for them so this is just "hear say".

I recommend that you familiarize yourself with a manual transmission because the day will come when you have to drive one. The sooner the better...

I guess I was psyching my self out about the physical, thought I cannot carry 70 pounds or lift it over my head. I heard that was part of it and for a woman to take 20 pounds out is ok. well that leaves it at 50, still alot to lift over your head. I am not way over weight, I do drive a building materials truck with a forklift on the back I thought I was good shape for a 56 year old woman, 5'4" and 150" usual weight, not skinny by any means but not overly fat. I am working on losing weight though, need to drop 20 pounds, I would be happy then :)
