US Xpress Drivers... How is it? Other Reno Based suggestions?

    Hello All!

    I'm trying to find out some reviews on US Xpress? My hubby is currently in school getting his CDL and can't figure out what company to apply for. Anything good about USX? Any other good companies around the Reno area?

    Also, I'm 13 weeks preggo (perfect timing to start in this business huh?) Should he just take a crapy job, like with Swift or something and then leave when the baby is born? Or should he try ad find a place that might let him take a couple weeks off?

    Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!

    Hello there fellow Reno driver. Does your hubby have any aggregate hauling experience? It's getting to be spring time, so the construction business will be picking up. That's when local aggregate hauling companies will start hiring. Where is your husband going to school at? Just wondering, I went to Nevada Truck Driving School.

    Hi Pete,

    I'm not quite sure what aggregate hauling is... the only driving experience he has is not CDL related. He drove a 24-foot box truck for a construction company for a while, but that's pretty much it. Yes, My hubby is also going to Nevada Truck Driving School. He's liking it a lot.

    An suggestions for trucking companies? Where do you work? Do you like it? Do they hire newbies?

    Aggregate is bulk construction material, crushed concrete, sand, gravel, etc. Something you would see places like Q&D, Granite, Lakeside, etc. hauling around. I am also from Reno so I'll keep my ears perked to this thread.
