Where is the original poster located ? I went through the same and found a CDL rental company that specializes in renting equipment for state tests.
Chicago area.

He may have insurance issues trying this method. In IL you can not register a commercial vehicle if you do not have a CDL Plus insurance may be an issue.
Why not travel to a state with CDL rental equipment avail for testing then transfer your CDL back into CT?supperdude16 Thanks this. -
There IS a huge demand for moving freight in our area. Whole lotta cheap though.
What you are blindly jumping into, you will find: is that without exception a multi faceted landscape company in this area has a lot higher return on investment than a single truck freight moving operation.
I've noticed your Craigslist postings since you first put them up. I didn't realize that was your plan, to get your own mc.
As an observation: if you can't throw $1500 at a driving school bribe to get your license, what's gonna happen when you have an actual problem that requires lots of money?TripleSix, passingthru69, supperdude16 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Was actuallybgoing to do a driver school in Texas. Very cheap down there! $250 for a day course and test the next day lol ! But the truck I am buying is from out of state so it's easier to go myself to pick it up then pay a driver to go down there.
Looking at a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia with the Detroit engine. Around $380k then leasing a 53' dry van trailer from the local leasing company that we have an account with already. Any one have experience with that truck by a chance? -
Where we are working is anywhere we can find a decent lane. My driver will want to probably come home every weekend or every other weekend. But for sure doing OTR. We have an account with Interstate Capital for Factoring

You are buying a 2013 FL for $350,000?
Just put the $10,000 deposit down and go get the rental truck. You'll get it back, as long as you don't wreck the truck.
I wouldn't rent you a truck, too much liability and illegal. Legally I can't let anybody drive one of my trucks that isn't a employee, on our insurance, and in our drug testing pool.Last edited: Mar 2, 2017
