I tried to deal with a dealer a year ago I've done business with in the past and he wanted a kings ransom for what I wanted and wouldn't budge .
I laughed and said see ya in a couple years when your lot is full of cars ya can't give away .

 

Exactly. They'll be begging buyers for sales soon enough.

 

I'm done with new vehicles. Going to run mine and see how many miles I can get out of it. I'm fairly certain my next vehicle will either be powered by a SBC or an early LS.

 

My 5.3 LS has over 350 thousand miles on it. Best platform GM has ever made. Still running the original differential and transmission hasn't even been out of it yet.

 

I'll never buy new again...got a mint 2013 silverado lt with 80k on it and stays in the garage and a 95 silverado that is my work vehicle.

 

My last 4.8 LS was still going strong at over 300k km. Not a single leak or damp spot anywhere on the powertrain and never left me stranded. For what they gave me on trade I should have kept it. No space for it though.

 

Those 4.8s will take an absolute dick stomping and keep right on running. A buddy had one of those in a two wheel drive that lived on the rev limiter for 3 or 4 years.

 

Sounds like my truck lol. Had a real aggressive exhaust system on it too.

 

He cut the cat out, ran to the box, up into a piece of wrecked 8 inch stack. Then he decided it'd be cool if it smoked like a 12 valve Cummins so ran brake line into the exhaust manifold out of the windshield washer tank filled with old oil or diesel. By the time it went to the crusher it'd had the rear end grenaded, welded back solid which then broke the drive shaft at 80mph. We never did get around to ethering the engine to the great junkyard in the sky.

 

I ran a Corsa catback on mine. Sounded just like this.
