I got 3 years on my set of Sox. I’ve used them twice. I don’t expect to ever use the again but.... I have them if I need them. I am legal everywhere in the USA. If I GOT to run chains it just to get off the road or over 1 pass. If it’s any worse than that I just lay up.
I say they work just fine for the purpose I bought them for.
Used my Auto Socks first time on Vails Pass

I’m in the same situation as you. I do not put on chains or socks, and in fact I never have. I just carry them to be legal. My former mega company didn’t allow us, only a few select drivers known as the chain gang.DoneYourWay and Tug Toy Thank this.

I’m also pretty limited on my choices of chains I can run.

Plenty of room for a set of three railers on the back axle.alds, DoneYourWay, starmac and 2 others Thank this.

If you lived in Montana & run to wa.state or Portland and back weekly. Then you would starve if you stopped because you didn't want to chain. Lolalds, DoneYourWay, Tug Toy and 1 other person Thank this.

But I don’t. So it’s a perfect set up for me. Just pointing out there are options. I drive in plenty of snow and ice in the Midwest all winter. I don’t head up the East side of the Rockies because I would starve summer or winter. Chains or no chains.DoneYourWay, whoopNride, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
