Anyone know anything about the used peterbilt 379s from TMC? Looking to buy a truck of my own with my father and came across their website blackandchromesales.com , all the trucks have around 1,000,000 miles but still look to be in good condition and are priced around 45,000 . It's around the price range we are looking at and they are mid roofs too which we want cause we will only be hauling flatbeds.

And they never have been driven over 62 MPH
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
They take very good care of all of their trucks. Probably the best out of the larger fleets.

Mechanically they are junk, from speaking to guys with the hood open at truck stops. Keep them looking shiny on the outside, and the frame etc is a rusted POS, engines need an inframe, etc.
I would NEVER buy a fleet truck myself, especially one from a company that has a pretty low experience requirement for their drivers.
Just my .02

Those trucks look good though. Like with anything used, check it over good, try to get a history, (they probably won't give one) and hope for the best.

Check out their kws.....

I think there prices are high for 1M miles. Better trucks out there in the 45-50K range.

I live by a couple of their main shops and their body shops, I would look it over real well if you do buy it. But as was stated above they care more about appearance then they do the maintenance of the truck. They buy alot of trucks and sell alot of trucks, might be able to talk the price down a bit.

From TMC's website....
We have job openings for experienced and student truck drivers in a variety of locations ........blah blah blah.
I would imagine that the bar isn't that high to become a trainer there, that is normally the case at the big companies.
Yeah, I'd get one of their trucks.....not.
Money could be spent elsewhere, and end up with more truck.
Would it have all the chrome stuff? Probably not. Would it make you more money at the end of the year with less repairs? Probably so.
Buying a used truck is a gamble anyways, why stack the odds more against yourself by buying a truck that could well have had a trainee driving it and only had the bare minimum maintenance performed on it? Doesn't make sense to me.....

Get a vin and run a rig dig. Get a oil sample done. Pull the ecm reports.
That right there will tell you everything you need to know.
