Looking to purchase a used truck and was wondering if I could get any recommendations for dealers and shops nearby the dealer who can inspect the trucks for me before I purchase.

    Thanks.

Take it to another same brand dealer. That is at least 50 miles away from dealer your buying from. Dont tell them your buying from anothet dealer. Unless you say thier selling it on consignment

Annual inspection doesn't really tells you any potential major issues may come in near future.

If you are buying a truck with DEF/DPF system, make sure to test drive the truck a couple hundred miles to see if the emission lamp comes on. The emission system will cost a lot of money due to downtime for troubleshooting. Once emission check engine light comes on, it will be a hard to narrow in on exact cause so lots of sensors and parts may resolve the issue if you are lucky.
