Cat or Cummins forget the Detroit (my opinion however some seem to like the cheapest motor)
    13 or 18 take a pick
W900 or 379 both will be killing u on fuel.
That would help also in making ur mind up for u

What type of trucking will you be doing? If you will be flatbed or tanker, you don't need all that fairing on top. For example, look at Melton Truck Lines website at used trucks for sale; that's what you need for flatbed or tanker. Their trucks have APU's also. In another thread you mentioned tanker, is why I mentioned the midroof trucks. Many of those older chemical plants have lots of overhead piping and narrow streets, so the mid-roof or flat-top would be more practical, plus less wind resistance when moving down the highway. Some tanker companies have used trucks for sale also.

Is the search button broken??? I am sure that there are hundreds if not thousands of topics and answers on this very subject.

Wait, you need trucking experience to run a trucking business. My god man thats crazy talk. You might put the megas and thier lease purchase programs out of business with that kind of thinking.
