Has anybody bought a used truck with accident report but not a salvage record?

How have you fared any issues, just found out that the truck I had my mind on has 1 accident report with tow away record. Why will they tow it away if it wasn't a bad accident.

That got me worried. Any thoughts?

Broken tie rod, broken suspension or any number of things, or even a broken air line or the driver was injured and they towed it to get it off the road.

As with any other truck you are looking at buying - at least this one gives you a heads up. Does it give any more detail about the nature of the "accident" ? Either way, it pays to have a mechanic you trust (NOT THE SELLER'S MECHANIC) go over it with a fine toothed comb. I think it was MNdriver had a thread about a truck he was considering buying, and found small cracks in the frame - hard to see but when you look close enough that could turn into a huge repair bill.

    swiff Thanks this.

The only additional accident info is "Collision involving motor vehicle in transport". I will have a mechanic look at it. I will look into having a mechanic look at it, don't know if I trust them since I am new at this and my regular mechanic does not specialize in trucks of this nature, I guess I have to trust whoever I pay to inspect it.

Not if they were properly repaired. We just had our truck get in an accident and it bent the front axle.... 3 days later it was back on the road and is running fine. It had to be towed to the shop.

He found them after he bought it and I believe replaced the whole frame rail.
