I will be starting with Holland in two weeks up here in Tomah Wi. Line Haul, T.M. said .43 a mile $18.75hr if you work the dock. These rates are after the 15% give back. 3 years full scale after 15% .52 mile $21 something hour. They are hiring at this location for city and L/H several positions A.S.A.P. Fulltime 30 day probation.

Holland been slammed since winter. It was so bad they turned down pick ups. Which in this industry doesn't happen. They need drivers bad from what I've read. Just got to deal with the -15% wages and lock on the contract for next couple years.

Early this week TM said same thing, turning down freight if it doesn't pay enough. I hope this is the right move. Leaving yanking a gas can to work for Holland LH.

I think you'll be alright. I was unsure about USF Reddaway and it turned out great. Holland is very profitable which means there's freight. I made 60k my first year two years ago at .399cpm starting on extra board. I'm making 70k at .46cpm on a bid. extra board always makes more. You guys can stay out too to avoid seniority board. But if their still turning freight away stuffs coming our their ears.

Hoping next contract 401k comes back and I'm non union so no pension. But I like my work environment. You can have a pension job but are you gonna work for 20+ yrs and be miserable to get it? That's bad for your health. By the time you retire you won't enjoy it long cause all that stress will take its toll. A lot of these union companies want every penny out of you when your on the clock. YRC and Holland are union but are pretty laid back as a company. I'm hoping YRC gets their heads out there butts next coming years to bring the pay up. If not a lot of people are gonna jump ship.

In 2008 Roadway closed the Fort Myers Fl barn. Being FL there is no decent paying jobs and none at that time of the big crash. Long story short, we moved back to Wi for work. Went to work with Klemm ( Kenan Advantage) they gave me a job when I needed one but our goal is to save enough money to make a go of Florida again at the end of 2018 when our son graduates High School. I make 58k a year at Klemm 6 days a week, and they dispatch to use up that 70 hrs. They will cross drivers on there home loads just to use up that 70, makes to sense to us. I hope I will be making more at Holland to achieve this goal. As far as the pension goes, I have no desire to remain on after 2018, I don't even have enough years in with Roadway to be fully invested I just need to do better than 58k a year. We can't stand the cold much more.

2 years as a city driver , plenty of overtime , equipment is older but runs almost 24 hours a day . Home every night , off weekends , good job in my book. Dress warm it's cold on the dock .

Hi: USF Holland is hiring like crazy in the Milwaukee Area? (City drivers) What's going on and what can I expect from an interview I have scheduled? I am single Dad, so most likely only able to work days. Is it a good enough job to try to get care for my daughter, so I can work for them whenever they need me? Thanks...
