Is it a bad idea to use your business debit card to buy food on the road or should I use my personal debit card? What can you use your business debit card for?

Buisness money is for buisness expenses
If you are claiming per diem on taxes, using and reporting food via buisness as travel expense is double dipping
If a sole proprietership, i wouldnt get too hung up on it but maybe just pay yourself to personal acct and use that? Otherwise whats the point of having set up a buisness account in the first place when you are just going to use it as if its your personal?Dino soar, joseph1853, feldsforever and 2 others Thank this. -

If your business acct was zero and you were hungry, would you tap into your private acct to have a meal ?

All trucking income goes into business account. Weekly driver salary (me) get automatically transferred on Fridays, and that's what runs the house. Legally, there's precedence for giving employees a "bonus" from my LLC, but that should be fairly infrequent.
