It isn't 5 miles here or there... it's hundreds. Sometimes I will drive for say 6 hours, take my 30, then finish my day, and it missed the 6 hours mileage...

I don't pay any attention to what it records as mileage for the day. I notice it when I do my trip reports, usually at the end of the quarter.

For fraudulent reports and outright swindles. But 5 miles here and there due to an oversight they should leave hard working people alone.

Wow. Is it so much really? If so, KT had better give you a refund.

I would suspect there is either a network issue or something is wrong with your individual device. Ours are rarely off anything significantly plus we reconcile with the trip sheets and there is never a difference that is worth crying about. Technology/computers are imperfect and anything like a storm or bad signal can mess up. I don't think the device should be used a replacement but it is good to have something to compare against your trip sheets and vice versa.

I'm going to keep paying for it. It keeps records of the maps of where I traveled, as well as a huge pdf file of breadcrumbs. Not having to write down every route I took is much nicer.

I am optimistic it will fix itself. I'll give it a couple quarters before I go digging into them to make it do what it's supposed to do.

I would agree that they should leave us alone. But in the real world, they want their pound of flesh like the rest of the government agencies.

Just read your post. I'm new to the biz, and just filed my first IFTA return. I sent the (CPA) my Comdata reports (for fuel) and my KeepTruckin reports for mileage etc (I pay the extra fee for the IFTA part) and she had no problem calculating my taxes. What she did have a problem with, was that I was not keeping trip sheets. She (accountant been doing truckers taxes for 40 years) said that KeepTruckin reports are not going to satisfy the auditors request for keeping track of all of the data properly. All of that being said, have you ever been through an audit? And if so, did you have any issues with KeepTruckin keeping track of your data? And if you were missing something, what was it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you still use KeepTruckin? And if so, do you still have big discrepancies or has it fixed itself? Have you ever been through an IfTA audit while using KT to keep track of your mileage? And how did that turn out? Any problems during the audit? I'm new, just filed my first IFTA tax, and I use KT for my ELD.

    Still use keep trucking.
    Never been through ifta audit.
Also pay the extra for mileage. Not sure if corrected yet or not. Haven't looked into it to compare to this last 4q2018 ifta filing. I use the tracking feature where it draws a line on a map where you've been. And write down mileage at each state line and do the math that way.
