I know this isn't directly related to trucking, but figured maybe someone on here knows...
Can I use an UPS address as an address for my car registration?
Here is my problem. I need to register my car in Texas. It is currently registered in California.
I could use my grandparents address HOWEVER, IN TEXAS, every member of a household is on the same policy which means I can't use Gieco if my grandparents are on Allstate. I don't know why this is the case, but it is.
I do not want to be on the same policy as my grandparents because my 17 year old sister is already on the policy and she's already had accidents and tickets. I don't want sky high rates.
I'm currently paying about $60 for mine. It's low because I drive a 2003 Toyota Corolla and I have no tickets or accidents.

Alright. That's what kinda what I figured. Seems like I might have to wait until I get a job and move out.
My California registration doesn't expire until June anyway.Chinatown Thanks this. -
I have a PO box for my mail, but for my license and auto registration they insist on the actual street address of my home.

Escapees RV Club may help you with a Texas address that's legal for CDL.
Check the website and make a phone call.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -

This might work; try it and take it to the DMV for CDL change of address:
Get a 24 month lease agreement notorized that you're leasing a room and utilities are included.
Use the address where your family members live.
Put down some amount of monthly payment such as $400.00 a month or whatever.
This way you may get around the car insurance thing about everyone being on the same policy. Just tell Gieco you moved and this is your new address due to your new job.
There's several websites where you can print a blank lease agreement and even customize it to match your situation. Can also probably get one from about any real estate office.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
