I have recently applied for several jobs and so far all of them are denying me due to my criminal record but yesterday I recieved by mail the USIS national background check that I guess most of these comapanies are using but when I ckeck it out, my name is so common that another individual with my same name and it appears to have the same social, same birth date has got an extenssive background in the drug trafficking world!!! so no wonder that these companies are declining me!!! WTF??? So I need someone to please help me out in going about this problem and what do I do in reference to contacting USIS with all this wrong info?!?!?!:biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510:

Same name and birthdate? I can believe that. But nobody can have the same social as you unless they stole your identity. You've got a loooooooooooot of work to do. It's amazing you haven't gotten arrested yet.

I know it's incredible, I do have a background for b/e but that was 15 years ago, for some reason these documents show my name, and an alias that I use which is the other guys name, but the only difference is that his middle name is different, I have no idea where to even begin!!!!!!!!!

That my friend is called stolen identity. You probably should pull your credit reports. I have no idea where to begin in helping you. Maybe start where these charges originated and prove these charges are not you. I don't know if dac-fix can help in this type of situation. It wouldn't hurt to call them.

Good luck to you in getting this resolved, it used to take some effort to destroy someone, now just the stroke of a key, derived from 'to err is human; to really foul things up, you need a computer

My wifes ex got stopped, received a citation for whatever he was stopped for and also not having insurance, somehow the court house got it mixed up with my wife or he had it mixed up and we got a letter stating she was being suspended for non payment of said citation and a warrant was being issued for her arrest, she called that court house, explained she does not live there, does not have access to that car and that we live 4 hours from there, but we were in a whole different state when her ex got the citation,, the clerk looked into it found the MISTAKE and took care of it, her ex got stopped again a week or two later and was arrested lol. so that problem was solved for us.

  9. The best thing for you to do is get your ducks in line. Use that background investigation report as a tool. Locate whatever you can to show that you were employed in a state other than the one where this individual was incarcerated, etc... You can contact USIS and ask them to look into it, but you are looking at a long wait. I used to do a lot of background checks when I was in the military and they started farming out BI's to USIS. They were professional enough, but severely backlogged and overworked. The other option, if it looks like someone stole your identity (which would be the only feasible explanation for the social security number) is to contact your local police department and file a report. That report, coupled with your contact of USIS should be enough when you go to another job. Make sure you are up front and completely honest with them. Explain it all and if the company is worth a ####, they will be understanding. Don't forget to check the FBI website for identity theft, they have a lot of steps you can take but you should definitely be proactive with the credit. If they haven't gotten to it yet, it's just a matter of time before they do. Put fraud alerts on all three major credit reports. The attorney is a good idea too.
