They advertise all the time looking for people so it must not be *that* great of a job. I went for an interview one time with them over on the west side of Manhattan at the vehicle maintenance facility on W. 25th St. and 11th Ave. Never got a call back think I was the only white person in the building. (Related? Probably)
If you need full time work to pay your bills you might starve to death as a PSE since they only guarantee a certain of hours per week until you get a career position. -
It's a federal job, so if you work for the government, you can only disclose so much publicly.
Hit me a PM and I'll try to help you out. -
You start off on the temp board. You work whenever they call and on varying schedules. You do this until someone retires and there is an opening. But it depends on howmany people were infront of you. I went and got hired but couldn't work the unpredictable schedule because i have bills even though i was second in line and was told there are a few guy's retiring. If you can live off of the wages before you go full time then do it. The job out of Manhattan is jfk and back everyday.
