Everyone must be getting a lot of miles the thread has been very quiet the last few days. I am very anxiously awaiting to hear if my husband and I have been approved for the WIA scholarships for truck driving school. We are supposed to hear either way tomorrow. I have been reading your posts for weeks, we have a short list of companies we are looking at and USX is one of them
SheepDog Thanks this. -
We ran our load to the Detroit area, delivered at 1400.....then got dispatched to Grand Rapids for a live load at 2300....was allowed to come 2hrs early but still waiting to hit the dock and it's now 2330.
We are running Super Solo now, which is nice, but I hate having to "start" my day hours after I want to just so we can run half the night (we've been up since about 0600).....fortunately there is a couple of truck stops about 20 miles down the road, but if we can't get in we shall just have to continue on until we find some place to stop. -
I have worked for USX 3 times since1999. They have always been good to me, even whenthe miles were short. this is typically between Jan 1st and April 15th. One thing you learn when you grow up and become a trucker is you have to hustle. Many of us have run local loads out of the old Medway terminal. We all know about Miejers. another point; NEVER turn down a load as a company driver. I'd rather run a 400 mi load each day than a Jacksonville to LA anyday. Always keep your FM updated. If you havebeen waiting on a PPLN for more than 2 hours, start sending in a message every 30 mins. My FM would get me a load just to shut me up. LOL! Now, you can sit back and blame everyone for your misfortunes and live in your own pissed off world, or you can accept responsibility for your actions, or lack of, pull your knickers up and make some money. Sadly, I don't think you have the guts. I would say you need to get back to that old job at BurgerKing where you can have it your way. As for USX, even though I now longer work for them, I would recommend them ahead of any other major carrier. Max and Pat know their business. Most of all, be patient. Every company has their own problems. USX has the resources to work through them quickly. It's a great place to start or continue your trucking career.

Well I just heard that USX had a Re-Org I wonder if this will change anything???
-
re-org what...
-
Re org management from what I understood. From reading face book it seems some of the FMs were changed and some people have been let go.
-
now that they have facbook they "upper management" are seeing what drivers are saying about things and maybe that is why they are changing things, BUT i've seen it before and some drivers think a fm was fired and all they did was move the driver to another fm or the fm is now a lp or csr
SheepDog Thanks this.
