The reality is you get your regular rate for short runs and paid less for longer ones.

And the regular rate for solos is too low for the work they do anyway and then they still want to pay them less.

What really stinks is when you run a load that is 10 miles past were the rate change is and you get paid less money than you would have on a 10 mile shorter run. Its like the company is getting an hour of free work out of the driver.

Well, after a few short runs we are back on reefer. Our appt was for 0800. That load still isn't ready yet. Reefer drivers get no respect...LOL.

We will be heading to WI with this load.

I found a new co-driver! We will be hooking up after my home time in 2 weeks. I can't wait. I will try to get him on this truck because he has one of those Pete's with an auto. Also I don't want to drag all my stuff into another truck. Hopefully I can convince the FM. It's not like Goofy can run solo anyway. I'm not kidding about that.

    .
since the new reefer trucks started coming in this week, try to get you both moved in to one at the same time. You are going to get reseated anyway. Might as well do it then.

Im on I80 hauling a load of macaroni to illinois. Got with a new trainer last sunday. So far its going much better than the last. Just 37 more hours till I can upgrade. Wife is closer than I am but she is stuck in wisconsin for a few days while her trainer is on home time so it might end up working out ok. Well if we can get some decent miles. Been really hit and miss on that.

    That's cool.

Is there a wait time for new teams to get on the refer fleet?

My recruiter didn't even know anything about the refer fleet.

I suppose I'll find out more next week, my orientation starts on Monday.
