From what they told us in orientation yesterday, the only way to avoid the 8 weeks of teaming is to go dedicated. Other then that you will have to hope for a miracle like them not having a team truck availble at the time.

That repower never did materialize so here I sit in Marion, IN. On the way here they gave me a PP to Wisconsin, then cancelled it, then gave it to me again. This morning I asked the FM if we were going to have a problem. By the time I got here they cancelled the WI load, gave me a PP to NC, then cancelled that and gave me one to Georgia. Georgia is much closer to Florida than Wisconsin.
I was pleased with my check though. 4540 miles plus $450 trainer pay. Works for me. -
Off home time and glad to be back on the road.
It was a very busy week and I managed to get absolutely nothing productive done. I was hoping to get the truck cleaned and set up for us a little better, didn't happen. I wanted to get the motorcycle out and maybe get a little riding in, didn't happen. I wanted to just lay around and relax for at least one day, didn't happen.
We did manage to see everyone in our immediate families with the exception of our oldest daughter because she lives in El Paso.
We went to see The Amazing Spiderman with one son, had a "karaoke jam" and 24th birthday party for another son (it was also my cousins birthday party) and we shipped our second oldest son off to Afghanistan with the USMC. We had beach party and dinner with our youngest son and daughter, a family get together at Patty's brothers house, breakfast with my dad (twice), lunch with my mom and a bar night with my bro, his wife and some good friends.
So let's see, in 4 days at home, we spent time with all 4 parents, all three brothers, 5 out of 6 kids, and some friends. Went to the movies, the beach and closed the bar twice...Yup time to get back to work so we can relax and get some rest.
Work-wise, we loaded today about an hour from home and we're headed to Tobyhanna, PA to do a drop and hook at Wally-World, around 700 miles total. We have no PP yet, but we're scheduled to be in Markham by Tuesday for Patty's long overdue upgrade.
Have a good weekend everyone. -
Well, we got a PP about half way to Tobyhanna. We grabbed a preloaded trailer in Tannersville, PA, just 12 miles from our drop and we're now headed to Hopkinsville, KY to another Walmart DC. These 2 runs together will get us to a little over 1600 miles for our first 2 days back to work plus I've still got about 1000 banked from last week that I didn't get turned in before going home. We're on schedule to make our drop in KY around 0200 so hopefully the planners find us something to do after that.
On a side note, we picked up a couple of those little 2-way radios the other day. They sure are pretty handy for helping Patty with her backing and make it a heck of a lot easier to communicate from the drivers seat to the bunk when we need to. -
I'm tired just reading all that!!!!!! Glad you guys had a good time.Jeremyc Thanks this.

Here's some news, I'm coming to orientation on Aug 6th in Chicago. Yay! finally getting back on the road. I've been stuck behind a desk for too long now. I'm thankful US Xpress is more flexible than most abou length of time off the road. Now If I can just manage to pass the backing test.

Sitting at Ellenwood right now. My load home doesn't pick up until noon tomorrow. I will get home just in time to certify my med card at the DMV.

Hey all. Sounds like everyone is having a good/decent time out there which is good to hear. I'll be coming off home time tomorrow morning at 0900. Been a productive 4 days for sure. Got the fiancé all moved into our temporary apartment until our new house is done being built and we had our first ultrasound for our first baby so that was really exciting! Had a nice BBQ with my family and hers Saturday and the weather cooled off which was perfect. Finished moving everything this morning so we spent most the afternoon relaxing and shooting some clay pigenons off the front porch haha. Hopefully by 0800 when I get to the truck they will have a pre plan waiting for me. Nothing has come over the xpress mobile app I got but hopefully tonight they send something.
Hope everyone has a good and safe week out there!
