We pick up in Michigan in the morning, then we have a stop in Olive Branch and then head to Ontario, Calif. Nice little run.

We had a FedEx load last week that was based on a 53 mph average with half the miles in Oregon, a 55 mph state for trucks. We contacted our weekend fm and he basically said too bad, do your best. We were 10 minutes late, but the kind FedEx dispatcher put that we were on time.
Don and I just emptied and are sitting at Pilot off I-79 at Portersville, PA. We will reset and pick up a load tomorrow going to AZ. We have had 2 good weeks with just over 6000 miles both weeks. I would love 7000 a week, but would be difficult with paperless logs. We are considering looking into the lease program. I have always hated lease programs, but someone told me USX's lease program is month to month, no 1 year contract like most companies. You can get out easily if you are unhappy. Anyone have any information on how the Lease drivers are treated here? I like that the trucks are governed at 70. -
Yes, I get Home Time if I can just get there...LOL
My regular FM got the Tobyhanna load taken off me this morning, then we had a load that went all of 20 miles. Was told to drop the load and then head for home......that was almost 3 hours ago......we had headed for home, now we are sitting at the Pilot on I44 XT 275 waiting for someone to decide what to do with us........it seems that LP thinks Carthage is a suburb of St.Louis instead of being 260+ miles west. -
i'm at the ellenwood terminal waiting to deliver outside atlanta in the morning...picked this load up in birmingham alabama...a whole 170 mile run whoo hoo...HVP load...hope they dont get used to giving such short runs...lol, i understand they needed it done i'm not worried about it...stay safe guys...and MUSICGAL...good luck getting home...lol

Highwayman, did you run around the block a few times with that load??? You are supposed to go 200 miles before you stop...LOL
We finally made it in last night about 8:30. I'll see if I can get the story straight...LOL
We were sitting at the Pilot and get a PP to PU in Belle, MO and deliver at the Home Depot in Topeka....Messages sent back "How is this going to get me home?....Are you aware we don't have a trailer?"........They tried to send us back to our delivery to get one...."We are 20 miles away, there wasn't any there earlier, and the guard shack lady was not nice or helpful in looking for one".....so we got sent to the Drop Yard in E. St. Louis. ......20 trailers, no empties......FM sends a list of 7 that show as being there.....4 are USX dedicated (which we can't pull), 1 is loaded, 1 has the wrong number but the closest number to it is loaded, and 1 is not even there......finally got permission to grab an Arnold and off we went.....by now it is midnight, Sean is driving, and we made it almost to Cuba before we had to stop because Sean was out of hours......so we grabbed a couple hours sleep and started off again at 0515.
Get to our PU about 0630 and find out the load was cancelled yesterday....."Am now only 190 miles from home. Can I go home from here??".......Get another PP to PU there and this load was going to Laredo but we could repower it in Joplin.....Now, this is where the story gets crazy!!.......went back to the office lady (who was not a very nice one) and get told that the loaded trailer is on the lot.....go back to look and the trailer is invisible.....sent message to FM and went to sleep......2hrs later message comes back "Is this load cancelled, too?"......then "CSR says the trailer was getting loaded at 0630".....call the contact # and they don't keep track by trailer #, my pu # was wrong, so the plant manager can't help me......enlisted the yard dog whose paperwork showed that the trailer had come in, but he couldn't find it anywhere and then he came back with a paper that showed the same pu # I had and said the trailer must have left with someone else just before we got there......At this point we had been there almost 6 hours and was running out of cigarettes again so I asked if we could go 20 miles back to the truckstop.....got permission, and as we were pulling out Sean found the trailer sitting right next to us.....LOL........the trailer that had been there when we went to sleep had been replaced with our trailer and we had been up now for about an hour but nobody had seen this trailer!!!...........so we get hooked up, scaled it, and then found one tire had a big chunk of the retread gone......another 2 hrs to get the tire replaced...............At 1500 we finally hit the road, got to Joplin about 1930, swapped trailers, and came home.
Where now we shall enjoy being for the next 4 days!!!!NoCoCraig Thanks this. -
OK, that was a good laugh this morning. Sounds like trucking to me

T
Musicgal you have earned the right to enjoy those days off and not even think about work so do so ..and no didn't run around the block but I went straight to ellenwood to wait...lol -
im in the lease program and its a year contract and they are starting a new long term lease purchase contract in a couple months and yes the trucks are gov'd at 70. there is alot more freedom u can run the route u want fuel where u want go home for as long as u want no 1 day for a week ive leased at two other companys and this is the best one so far with my truck payment and insurance its still cheaper then my truck lease payment alone at trans am. its not bad if u like to run and not go home every two weeks
