i can tell you what it is but the shop (olive brench, ellenwood, markham, tunnel hill) will not beleave you when they check it..
it's the alternator...! had the same thing happen with our 09 pro star, 3 full sets of batteries plus 6 individual batteries over 14 months until the alternator went out, when they put in the new one it was charging .5v highter (old was 14.2v new was 14.7) it was fine after that
btw 14.2 was within spec -
Tookes Country BBQ about 2 miles south of the Ellenwood Terminal on Hwy 42. Little shack next to road and next door to a great fruit stand. Awesome BBQ. They do not deliver but get the van and go there.
-
yeah i been telling them that already but they keep saying nope...lol
14.2 to 14.3 is where mine stays, they are saying bad batch of batteries, i have seen several trucks getting new batteries -
will check it out sometime ...i think we used up all of our van time for now, ...lol -
said they wouldn't beleave ya...
a bad batch 3X......? i don't think so
if and when you can call the dealer and ask them what it should put out
if it's running 14.3 and it should be 14.7 it will kill the batt's. all the shop is realy doing is seeing if it's charging and it is but not as much as it should for some reason they don't think .5v matters and on the high power loads of the new truck it does
had olive branch check our's one time and the starter after the dealer had to jump the truck to get it started and they (olive branch) said everything was fine, two days later we were at markham after have to call for a jump at fedex (missed our load) markham check everything and it was fine then when they went to start it to pull it out of the shop GEE it wouldn't turn over (put in new batters) 2 days later the alt went out in ID took it to the dealer and they put in a new one and we never had a problum out of the batters again..... -
Yeah, bad batteries was my problem too.....don't know if they did anything about the alternator or not.
Still sitting in Ellenwood waiting for FM to straighten out the PP mess that was sent to me....basically PU here, then tomorrow deliver 34 miles away at 1000, then drive 83 miles to PU and deliver that load 250 miles away by 1022...................................and now it's nite shift so probably have to call and see if my night FM can figure this all out.....LOL -
don't ya just love nights and weekends
-
Got the loads figured out.....take load and deliver, then go pick up new load and take to Duncan to drop since it doesn't have a delivery time....OK, got it........
Went and hooked up this morning, did PT, found one bad tire and mudflap, take to shop.......3 1/2 hours later they replaced 3 tires, now working on mudflap, and they found that the red line at the front of the trailer was leaking....looks like it had been cut.....so we are still sitting.
Lost the second load, don't know what is going to happen with this load that was supposed to be live unloaded 90 minutes ago. -
dont feel bad im doing a 98 mile load that i picked up last night and doesnt delv till 430 this afternoon and they wont take me early
