Here you go, take it or leave, copied verbatim from the USXpress Driver's Manual.

    "Blogging Policy
Blogging has become a popular activity on the internet, and you may now or in the future decide to start a blog. The Company takes no position on your decision to start or maintain a blog. You are, however, prohibited from “blogging” on work time or during working hours. Likewise, you may not use Company computers (or other Company privded devices) to blog.
You will be subject to disciplinary action for any blog posting that discusses, directly or indirectly, the Company, its business or its managers, employees or former employees. This is also true for both current Company activities or those planned or being discussed. The actual content of the posting is irrelevant. That is, it does not matter if the posting is positive or negative. Unless specifically instructed, you are not authorized to speak on behalf of the Company. Therefore, any posting about the Company may lead to your immediate discharge."

Sounds like a 1st amendment infringement to me. Not allowed to use company provided equipment? That includes the internet they pretend to provide at the terminals.

And for the record, I'm not worried about getting fired, I've already quit.

Your employer can restrict you from talking about them if they want. If you don't like it you can quit as you have already said you did. Then you can write any truthful thing you want about them all day long and they cannot enlist the help of the government to stop you.

I believe this may become a rule more widespread in the future. Many companies are very sensitive to comments about them.

Nah.... they failed to correctly indentify the "real" problem LMAO.

"Legal" language is critical in a court of law.

Blogging isn't the issue here. This is a BBS, not a blog. So it's a no brainer as long as you don't use their connection or equipment to post here.

The only way they could do anything about it. Prove it. Not so easy based on the level of Tech savvy people most trucking companies employ. Just a tad over idiot, IMHO. It would cost them a chunk of change, to get the level of Tech they'd need. And we ALL know they aren't going to spend more than minimum wage on that.

5 minutes inside their mainframe, would disable them for days. As the bumblers dug through meaningless garbage, looking for a virus or corrupt file. Swapping one hard drive after another...only to watch it go poof on their internal network.

I wouldn't be worried about idiots identifying my presense on a website. Unless I actually GAVE them the information.

    We know they read this
I remember a while back a guy got fired for discussing a problem (fender bender) and having his truck number in his post
I feel its always a bad idea to use last names and truck numbers

What really struck about that policy was this: If they don't want anyone other than recruiters to say anything about the Company (Notice it's capitalized in the manual, as if the Company were God or something), what are they trying to hide? Unsatisfied drivers like me trying to let the rookies and students out there know the truth about screwball operations like this one?

Hehe, I just realized something... I'm still a rookie, really.....

Exactly, word is getting out about these blood sucking companies. They're trying to stop the bleeding, the only way they can. Eliminate the originating source.

Hell companies threaten drivers all the time. Or keep the appearance of a threat going at all times. Attempting to bluff, scare, coerce many of the new drivers into silence/obedience.

But the web has produced a cut through a major artery, and the band aids ain't working no mo.

The information super highway has run their sorry ### down :biggrin_2559:

Well here is Werner's from their company manual, I cut it short where I could as i dont feel like writing the whole ###### thing:

Yeah I cut it as short as I could and didn't check spelling, its not word for word but its the jist of it. :biggrin_25525:

I figure they really wouldn't have to do much work to find out who I am lol. If they so wanted.

I mean, at least the Werner policy basically says, "Make us sound good."

The Useless Xpress one says if you're not a recruiter, don't talk at all. They must be aware that if you're not in that 'propaganda fleet' they keep happy for PR, you're miserable and probably hungry, and have nothing but truth (ie, bad) to say about the company. Sorry, the Company.

When the two Scandinavian drivers changed employers last month, their blog almost ceased. They changed from Werner to U.S. Xpress. I thought perhaps they no longer have time to post photos and blog, but there may be more to it than that.
