OMG! I could have went all day without reading that. Forget the lawsuit, somebody would be getting a beatdown
:doubling over in pain just thinking about this: -
$200g's...nowhere near enough!
You guys(U.S citizens) have to pay for all medical right? There's no mention as to if the patient needs to pay for the removal of the remaining testicle, seems $200 g's would only cover the surgery but not the mental anguish. Personally though I may not have them...God help the doctor who removed the wrong breast!
For a MAJOR f-up like this seems $1.2 mil would be a good starting point. -
Oh" Oh" ,put it back quick"",I can't imagine a mistake like that, but if you are facing him writing down which one,it could be an easy mistake, especially if the dr had to think right or left. Poor guy.
-
it's a 50-50 chance, with odds like that you think they could get it right. and this was just so painfully to read. makes my "boys" duck and hide.
-
as a vet i frown upon things such as this yes mistakes happen and walter reed was a dump....am curious why no mention is being made of the 100's of 1000's vets who are happy with the health care the va provides at a next to nothing cost maybe if people would stop focusing so much on the negative in life people could smile more often ....alright i am done babbling about my philosophy

Chinese Torture
THREE WORST CHINESE TORTURE TESTS
A man is out in the Chinese wilderness and he's hopelessly lost. It's been
nearly three weeks since he's eaten anything besides what he could forage,
and he's been reduced to sleeping in caves under trees.
One afternoon he comes upon an old mansion in the woods. It has vines
covering most of it and the man can't see any other buildings in the
area. However, he sees smoke coming out of the chimney implying someone
is home.
He knocks on the door and an old man answers, with a beard almost down to
the ground. The old man squints his eyes and says, "What do you want?"
The man says, "I've been lost for the past three weeks and haven't had a
decent meal or night's sleep since that time. I would be most grateful if
I could have a meal and sleep in your house for tonight."
The old Chinese man says, "I'll let you come in on one condition: You
cannot mess around with my granddaughter."
The man, exhausted and starving, readily agrees. "I promise I won't cause
you any trouble. I'll be on my way tomorrow morning."
The Old Chinese man says, "OK but if I catch you then I'll give you the
three worst Chinese torture tests ever known to man."
"Ok, Ok," the man said as he entered the old house. Besides, he thought to
himself, what kind of woman would live out in the wilderness all her life?
That night, when the man came down to eat (after showering), he saw how
beautiful the granddaughter was. She looked like an absolute pearl, and
while he had only been lost for three weeks, it had been many, many months
without companionship. And the woman had only seen the occasional monk
besides her grandfather and well, they both couldn't keep their eyes off
each other throughout the meal.
That night, the man crept into the woman's bedroom and they had quite a
time, but had to keep the noise down to a minimum. The man crept back to
his room later that night thinking to himself, "Any three torture tests
would be worth it after that experience."
The next morning the man awoke to a heavy weight bearing down on his
chest. He opened his eyes and there was this huge rock on his chest. On
the rock was a sign saying, "First Chinese torture test: 100lb rock on
your chest."
"What a lame torture test!" the man said to himself as he got up and
walked over to the window. He opened the shutter and threw the rock out.
On the backside of the rock was another sign saying, "Second Chinese
torture test: Rock tied to right testicle."
The man, seeing the rock was too far out the window to be grabbed, jumped
out the window after the rock. Outside the window was a third sign
saying, "Third worst Chinese torture test: Left testicle tied to bedpost." -
Man, that story is just nuts!! Sorry, but someone had to say it.

I started having joint problems during Desert Storm (90) Went to 85th Evac. while in theatre. Complaint was joints were aching. Nothing was found and I was given motrin. Got Stateside and was still having problems. I went to The VA in Indy. This was about the time that all the complaints were on the news of vets with aching joints, etc. The VA acted like I was nuts. They acted like I was trying to get free medical attention. I did not have this problem before I went to Desert Storm. I had the paperwork showing that I was complaining about this while in Desert Storm.
Had to keep going back to the VA which would take all day. Then I had to wait for hours for the scripts to be filled. All they were doing was guessing and giving me pills to try to stop the pain and stiffness. They acted like I was out to get some pension from the goverment. I got tired of dealing with the VA and never went back. I would just as soon go to a veterinarian than a VA doctor. I will never go back to VA. I have had joint problems every since Desert Storm. Was it due to something the goverment injected me with to help us continue our mission in a chemical enviroment? I have no idea. I was in a chemical enviroment and it could have been all the shots I got or the chemicals I was exposed too.
All I know that my daughter was born 2 years later with a life long history of high fevers. Her highest temp was 106.2 when she was a baby. She has been in and out of hospitals since for high fevers. She is now a teenanger and still has them. As for me I have been told that I have cartlidge deterioration. Could be from arthritis I don't know. I do know I never had a problem until I deployed. I just can't stand the VA and will never go back. I don't like dealing with them. I think the vets need better heathcare. Several years ago there was a article in the Readers Digest about a wanna be doctor that could not pass the board exam. He failed it several times and the VA hired him as a doctor. -
After a week (ok 5 days) of my dad being in the hospital in the cardiac unit I have come to wonder about the VA and the care they provide. He was never sent to see a cardiologist in all the time he had been under their care (until a month ago) and he had a previous heart attack and is diabetic. For anyone that is unaware diabetics sometimes have what are called silent heart attacks. While in the hospital this week we found he has THREE blockages in his heart 2 of which have made other blood supplies on their own and one that can not have a stint placed (they tried and it wouldnt go) so how long has this been going on????? I have over the years tried to get my dad to seek outside medical advice and establish himself with specialist, now I wish I had been the BIG B word and fought with him over it. He is going back to the VA for his check up on Tuesday and to see the cardiologist there. I will continue to insist that he keep up with the "outside " specialist even if he does think I am being a pain in his butt, rather that than a pain in his chest!!
