We are in need of 3 truckloads/week from Toano, VA 23168 to Detroit, MI 48207. Does anyone know of drivers going to VA that would want to back haul to Michigan? Needs to haul 43,500 lbs. 53 ft. dry van. Let me know! Thank you.

Wrong board to be posting it. However, it ALL depends on the rate.

What if someone wanted a headhaul out of VA or are you only paying backhaul rates.

We will pay $1050.00 all in. Really need backhaul rates but something one could depend on regularly.

Probably safe to assume it is cheap since it included the all important words (back haul).

Oh ok I see it is cheap.

No such thing as a back haul. The truck doesn't get cheaper to operate just because it is heading in the direction of its home.

My first thought would be that you had better go back to your shipper and tell them you need .50 more a mile. That amount of weight over that particular lane is a big money loser at that rate. I doubt that you would get it moved for less than $2 on any kind of regular basis. Still too low even as a "backhaul".

Heavy load on a mountainous route with tolls that is ridiculous cheap. If you're not greedy why waste time trying to serve such a customer? Is the headache worth it?
