So I decided to purchase one of those 12v plug in vacuum cleaners to clean up all the dog hairs in my truck. I plugged it into the outlet in the sleeper and after 5 min of use, the power goes out. I can't even turn on the sleeper overhead light, and the other outlet won't work either. The outlet and lights near the dashboard still work, so whatever it was basically affected the sleeper area.
I went ahead and opened the fuse box, it was under my bed near the apu and looked at all the 10 to 30 amp fuses, and none appeared to be blown. Not really sure what else could be the problem. Any ideas?

what kind of truck?

What are the electrical specs of the vacuum? Amperage or wattage will do...
-
You blew a fuse somewhere--probably another fuse box upfront--w/out knowing kind of truck just guessing--Had this w/97W9L could only plug vacum into dc in front of cab!
Just my$.02 -
Its a 2010 pete 387.
Funny thing, I went to sleep an hour or two after all this happened and was rudely awakened by the sound of my vacuum. Scared the crap outta me. So for whatever reason, the power to my outlet in the sleeper came back on. This would explain why I couldn't find a fuse that looked blown, cuz it magically fixed itself.
I'm really struggling to understand why it would stop working for an hour and then start back up again on its own accord.
Its 150 watt, 13 amp on the vacuum specs.
Thanks -
Sounds like a loose connection somewhere... probably in the vacuum.

does it have the-hmmm cant remember the proper name--but if your battery voltage starts to go low--it will start to shut down unwanted/un needed circiuts to make sure that the truck will start?
i know in the fliners when it starts to shut off circiuts there is a beeping sound for a few seconds to give you warning -
My sleeper lights went out with the vacuum. Then I tried using some other accessories in the same outlet and they wouldn't work. Its definitly some kind of fuse issue. What I'm struggling to understand is how it resolved itself and I could not locate a bad fuse anywhere -
or a circuit breaker...
