sitting at the Abingdon rest area...drove 10hrs and 55 minutes today......with a total of 666.2 miles
..... I had to take a 14 mile detour in Missouri for fuel....and a hot shower....then I got stuck behind what must have been a brand new pumpkin truck driver (schnider)....cause he was putzing around 45 mph on some streaches of 2 lane in IL and KY....... I think I win the Iron butt award for the day.....and lets just say if we were still on paper...yeah I would be sitting at the cons right now....LOL...

Kinda on the grumpy side today after seeing my paycheck.....I know I was away for a week......but when I came back I went right back to work and hammered 3k miles out....thing is my paychecks aren't supporting the miles I am cranking out per week....I can go back to my former employer and run less miles (less work) and get paid about the same if not a little more....and still be home every other week if I like.....so I think its time I have a little #### chat with Mike...cause either I go home every weekend now...and no more favors...or I am gonna get picky about loads...cause I want to be paid for my work...just sayin.....sorry guys...I am just venting...I am running on a severe sleep deficiency due to stress.....my divorce is down right dirty.........
I am sitting at KVAT in abingdon.....showed up here about 5 am in a door now.....I think my 14 hour clock is going to be shot to hell today LOL.....(my appt was at 7 but I know this place is FCFS....and I was here FIRST!!!!) -
Mushroom - i didn't run into the snow as i pulled a load out of Delhi that came back down to Upper Marlboro, time i got believe Harrisburg it was all rain.. I came up to Plympton last night and the roads were clear again just quite about of dried up salt on the road! Also most of it was wet snow..
Mic - i understand your pain.. That's why i love running the Northeast, i usually have a estimate of what my check is going to be. By all means, running this Northeast stuff isn't the easiest stuff especially when you get these "Hot Loads" and really don't have time to mess around with. Running in the Midwest is mad easy compared to the Northeast but of course the Northeast has more bang to it's buck -
I'm in Sheldon for the night. My truck was due for service and I'm so freaking sick. This is day four of this cold virus and thus far the worst one. Headache, runny nose, water eyes, head and chest congestion and fever...fun, fun...
Mic, I know how you feel. Had a similar conversation with Mike about a month ago. My take away was to try to stay away from the Kansas loads as they seem to suck the revenue out of my check. -
Sitting in Ottawa,IL this evening waiting on a 3 stop load that starts in Ohio and finishes in Virginia on Monday. Have a good weekend everyone.

I unloaded in Baltimore on Thursday and much to my surprise it was quite pleasant, 55 & sunny with a slight southerly breeze. Have any of you guys had the Error code: SCR/DEF Service Required/NOx Exceeded-Quality with an engine derate? Everything was normal and when I fueled last night in Lake Station I topped off the DEF and about 40 miles into Wisconsin that popped up on my dash. I'm hoping that there was just a wad of the crusties from the nozzle that gummed things up a bit, I just turned the key over here in Baraboo and the code no longer appears on my dash display. Guess if it decides to be a high maintenance bi**h I'll be in Laurens tonight so I can just bounce to the yard and have them check it out. So far this thing has been pretty solid running but when the problems do come up, they tend to come in groups. Last week when I was in for a service Dean had to switch out the heater regulator valve on the firewall, it sure is nice to be able to turn the temp dial on the dash and have options of temperatures other than incinerate coming from the vents.
