Honestly, I don't know what was wrong with the old 11/14/70/34 reset rule. I never had a problem with getting proper rest and being refreshed to start the day. All they are doing is making things more difficult for everyone, and in the case of me, a local tri-axle dump driver who needs to run a log, giving me a LONGER day. I would always eat my lunch during one of my loading processes as they usually take 15-30 minutes. Now, I'm going to have to park somewhere and show a half hour break. At least if I want to show being 100% legal...

So I hear one of you poor saps got talked fast to my buddy Warren at Trexler Plaza
Was it you Spyder? If I guessed where you were loading last week, I think I just missed you over there that day.
Larry are you back in the saddle of one of those pretty blue KWhoppers? Things are going OK over here I guess. They made me trade in my beloved Century class 14L Detroit stallion for some newfangled MaxxForce 13 powered Prostar that rides like a pogo stick, has a worthless engine brake, worthless cruise control, and a worthless computer. Peoplenet elogging is AWFUL! Oh yeah, it's a single screw with a fixed tag axle too! -
Brian, yes it looks like it. Will start back on the 29th. KW I hope, not a big fan of the Volvo bus, with the intergrated frame/suspension. I know some love it but as they say to each his own. I feel your pain on a single screw FL, was driving one, an old Cascadia w/an L10 Cummins.

Back on the road after a few days off for r&r, few wedding things taken care of.. pickin up and headed to iowa... truck needs service so ill b in sheldon sometime this week.. hoping for some good paying loads! I had to kinda get into it with my dispatcher on fri.. seems like he forgot I needed to be home, but I got that squared away.. I just hope this isn't a recurring issue on hometime all the time... other than that all is good.

I think the new restart rule will go into effect just like the FMCSA wants it to. If it doesn't, I will be very surprised. But let's think about this. The law of supply and demand SHOULD kick in, if there are less available trucks/drivers, then freight rates SHOULD rise, unless I'm over looking something. I'm not getting shook up over it, I'll run what I can, make what I can, and go home when I can. I guess I'm just short of Kay siraah siraah, what ever will be will be. One things sure, I never got an A in spelling.
Live loading in SxCity going to So Plainfield for Thurs afternoon. -
Im in montna on my backhaul should be home thursday.....as for the new HOS...yeah itll make freight rates rise...but will also keep dispatch from chasing us out of the house right away too....the half hour break thing kinda bites a bit though...but ill adjust...ill admit sometimes I iron butt my loads cause what else do I have to do but drive...but now I have to take a 30min break and just sit somewhere and look at a clock..uggg

You could always stop at the J for fuel for that break, it usually about takes thirty minutes, especially in the northeast. So spoke to Tim today, looks like I'll have to hitch a ride on Monday for Sheldon, since there are no trucks in Waynesboro. Nothing better than running team operation......not!

Seriously, the half hour break thing? Get out, talk a walk around the lot, take a piss, grab some coffee, do some paperwork, call your honey. Boom. 30 minutes.
