As bzinger said, David in Great Bend is a great guy...probably the straightest shooting dispatcher/manager there. Chances are you will get a volvo 730, which are pretty decent. If you live near the terminal and like running MidWest, you'll probably do pretty well with them
bbechtel16 and bzinger Thank this. -
Greetings, new to this website, being recruited by van wyk to come aboard. 40 yr vet of highway wars but never did percentage pay. Can I do 60k + yearly and be home weekly?? She's telling me no problem. Also do they have ez and prepaid? Any info surely appreciated. Be safe, Shortz

Welcome aboard, ez pass and press pass yes. 60k a year and home weekly, depending on what you mean by weekly. Working your full 70/80 hours probable, but otherwise you'll be short. Not a bad company, but go through the last 5+ years on this link, which I started, and it will tell you alot. Good luck.

Hi Shortz, depending on your area, yes it is possible, but more likely to get there going home every other weekend, unless you live near a yard.
You are percentage, and while there are some very good paying loads, you will also have times where you waste 2 days +/- pulling a $1/mi to the truck load. Just an example, I once had a load that went from Jersey City, NJ to Wisconsin for around .90cpm.
The idle/overspeed bonus is pretty easy to max out on during the winter, unless you are in single digit/- temperatures and they ask you to idle your truck...a couple nights of that in a row will kill it. Also, while the allowable idle percentage is decent, if you get stuck on night runs sleeping days during the summer, you have to choose between sweating or the bonus.
Now to the positives, they have great equipment and keep it very well maintained. While it may affect your income, they will get you home pretty much every weekend or when you need to...they do work hard on getting you home.
Pulling reefer, there is the time wasted sitting at shippers/receivers, and they are very good about getting you detention/layover as long as you follow the procedure for that customer and you are on time.
Hope this helps...good luck!!Shortz Thanks this. -
