Well maybe because if you get it you will be infectious longer and can spread it to more people. Also variants have a better chance of developing in people who are infected for longer periods.

"The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not documentation that a vaccine caused the event."

That's enough for me. But remember, VAERS information has no bearing on my decision about getting vaccinated. I'd never even seen any information from that site until today.
