VCADs shows 20% compression loss on 4th cylinder of Volvo D12d engine.
My questions are:
is VCADs accurate??
and what would this compression loss feel like on the engine?
big thank you in advance for any responses![]()

engine make blow smoke and missfire.
first of all remove exaust manyfold and check for oil in exaust passages, if no oil check valves for damage. Sometimes you can see damage throught passages.
Remove valve cover and inspec JB.
Really VCADs test is relativelly accurate. VCADs checks cranking speed.
To be sure, pull out EECU fuse ore relay and crank engine with starter. You can feel like starter freely "skips" damages cylinder without resistance.
I sugest bad valve -
Thank you Pablo!! you are the best !!

my mechanic took the valve cover off and check the valves, he said they are OK ,
can he tell it just by taking the valve cover off or should he take some other parts off?
I'm thinking that maybe injectors wiring harness has some circuit to the ground or something like that and misfires one injector ?? -
you cant see damaged valve from valve cover. remove the cyl head
