I have a 2003 ve d12 with engine brake issues. The exhaust brake stays on for a few seconds after you shut it off. It usually happens when the engine is warm. There is no thottle response while the brake is on. The dealer thinks it is the air valve (solenoid) for the exhaust brake. Anybody else have the same problem?

volvo calls exaust brake EPG - exaust pressure governor. It may stuck with soot. to make it work well, be sure the problem is in EPG, not stuck EPG valve located under starter. If no air pressure in EPG air line, but EPG stuck closed, remove it and clean with TB cleaner ore Carburator cleaner fluid. really helps to remove carbon deposits.
