What the heck is that vehicle inspection station on the 70 west bound as you come into Kansas? Who is it for? I mean its not a coop or is it? No prepass or even an open/closed sign out on the hwy. I passed there today and it looked like it was open because they had what looked to be official vehicles and personnel doing some inspection but I didnt pull in. There was no sign saying to pull in though. At night, it looks like your typical truck yard with dropped trailers everywhere. Someone pls enlighten me?

Spot inspections. Either they had a temporary open sign until the were full, flagged a truck in, or stopped them down the road and escorted them to the place. That would be my guess.

A co-worker stopped in there a few years ago and asked them about it. They said that it is a vehicle inspection site for vehicles being brought into Kansas from outside of the state that were bought by people in Kansas. I've never been stopped by anyone in there before.

The state has a office building there we worked on a water pipe line job that everyone waited to be escorted to job two at a time an parked there overnight many times with no dot in parking area ever.

DOT waits a mile before then pulls you in with their lights on. There is no sign or anything.
