Wanted to ask other operators on how they check their potential drivers experience? And their DOT record? I ran state's MVR which only returned tickets in my state. And doesn't show DOT write ups like HOS violations etc...? All the previous employers are very small companies, and when i called sounded very shady (i checked one companies authority and they claimed he worked for them before they even got their MC)? Any way to check that for sure? Like see the dates that he was insured under someone's MC#? PSP came back clean, and don't think there's a point to run DAC.

Doesn't help with most small trucking outfits.

Yep all small trucking outfits very doubtful any of them would use DAC.
SAM/RED kinda a friend of a friend thing, i got a bad feeling but can't pin him down to see what he's hiding.123456 Thanks this. -
I'd tell him to dig out his tax records to figure out who he worked for during the gap. If he cannot, then there's a problem.RickG and cetanediesel Thank this. -
Alright. Here is how you get PSP's. www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov If the driver forgot who he worked for then how will he remember to come to work for you? He might get in the wrong truck or no telling what.
No seriously make him provide some pay stubs or something so you can complete your driver qualification files. BTW had a guy come to me "desperate" for a job. His PSP was six, that's right I said six, pages long.

Already got his PSP it's completely clear No crash or inspection results found. And according to MVR he has CDL for at least over 10yrs. My concern is that he just wasn't driving
