I sure miss Alltel, my bill has been wrong 2 times since Verizon acquired them.

I purchased an Aircard not too long ago. I asked to drop the data plan from my cell phone. Guess what! They wont do it unless I buy a brand new phone, and I am not eligible for a new upgrade. And, theres a very grey area of which cell phones are considered "smart phones" so if I go to eBay or craigslist to buy somebody used phone theres a chance I will end up getting a phone that "supposedly" wont work with out a data plan. I smell class action law suit on this deal (not from me) but from bunches of other folks with whom are stuck paying for a data plan they dont want anymore. Not real cool!

I was always afraid of poor service with AT&T and that is one reason I never switched before. When I was OTR I was always in the middle of nowhere it seemed, and I always had signal with Verizon. But with not traveling anymore (other then when I want to go somewhere warm like Florida in a couple weeks) the service to be pretty good here in Central Ohio.

I do get into some outlying areas outside of Columbus. They other day I drove from Waverly, Ohio (about 60 miles south of Cols.) back up to Columbus and I would usually lose signal with Verizon between Waverly and Chillicothe and then again at the Pickaway/Ross County line north of Chillicothe. With my iPhone I did not.

Overall so far I am happy with the service, but it is still very early on. As far as the iPhone itself... I LOVE IT! I don't know how I went without it because I really wanted one when they came out. Now I just need to find some more cool apps... Any suggestions? :biggrin_255:

I have Sprint for my cell but Verizon for my laptop. Verizon by far has the best broadband coverage but I would be curious to see if they get into the 4g broadband like Sprint has in some major metro areas.

I'm sure there are a lot of folks who feel this way. But being the "old fart" that I am, all I really want from my cell phone is a good clear signal that I can talk and listen on. But then I've been called a dinosaur by some younger folks...:biggrin_2557:

When you signed your contract on the Envy Touch you received a discount for that phone with a 2 year contract. They cannot keep discounting phones when you are not eligible.
