It was their calling and time to leave this earth. No one expects it, no one plans for it. It just happens. Cant say i agree with the elderly oversight thing.
My grandmothers 84 and still drives what few friends that are left to go do errands. She was fairly active in her 60’s and 70’s but over the last 5 she has slowed down. Still sharp, stubborn and ornery as ever. Memory is off at times but so are my parents who are in their mid 60’s.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Look at this profession for example.
How much more often do you see a senior driver error as opposed to a younger one.
I don't need to debate young vs old.
Insurance claims paid out at 1000 to 1( my figure) bear this out.
Ask any actuary. -
Young drivers do stupid things, I know I did. But then again there are more young drivers on the road, alot more, than "old" drivers. A number of accidents of each age group isn't going to show much, only the black and white numbers for just that. There is more to it than that.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
Demographic stats show it's not as disproportionate as you'd think.
But does grow after 65 years of age as would be expected.
Individuals and not groups of people...
If we are not allowed to exercise our legal rights/privilege solely based on generalization or a predetermined number then I will have been glad to have lived in a time (mostly)where the nimby/liberals were few and far between.Last edited: Jul 9, 2019

Maybe one demo is actually better but there are so many the accident numbers are higher for that group. If you only look at the number of accidents. -
I was referring to percentage of people in age groups, as you said there were more younger drivers.
And accident comparison is not even close.
As an experienced older multi motorcycle owner my rate to insure 3 is less than a 25yo with 1.
Not to get off track but personally I believe rates on insurance as well as restrictions on driving should be based on a individuals performance.Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
SuperRookie and Dennixx Thank this.
