I was at a particular yard today. A very nice Kenworth looking like a kids toy. Backing up. Perfect day, perfect visibility, lots of room, no distractions. I thought what a nice truck I want to drive one like that. The next thing I hear a horrible sound and his bumper is all bent due to contact with a concrete block. Also he lost his spiked lug nut covers. The guy was a middle aged person and he looked like a very experienced truck driver. Very sad.

I felt like, if it happened to him, it could happen to me also. And guess what? I was backing up into my own home driveway and almost hit a mailbox!!! This, like, never happened before. A mysterious coincidence?

This is a accident? Anyone could have done that by not looking for walls or obstructions before backing up.

Been there, done that. I’m pretty paranoid about front end swing when backing as a result.

Hate the way some of our dairies and farms have big boulders and such right on the edge of the drive.

Yea I know you want your lawn to look nice but the areas are tight.

Throw us a bone and lay down some gravel by the area where everyone is getting off the drives while backing.

Nope throw a boulder there that you can not barely see over your hood in the daylight. Not to mention at night or when it is buried in the snow.

Put a darn Flag on it if you need it out there that bad.

I am thinking, that if that truck had mirrors on the hood he might not get into this situation...
