Ok, that's the same thing I'm going to do. Figure I'll have Uncle Sam foot the bill for truck driving school. I'm considering Melton myself because they allow pets and seem to really care about their drivers.
Veteran Newb looking for a decent company.

First and formost THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE !!! With that said I know of a company...yes I work there myself while No they don't have or do flatbed they do have a EXCELLENT Lease Op program..They operate a dry van and hopper fleet, hopper is what I do and I LOVE IT!!!! I was a 11year reefer driver switched to hopper and it's a blast it keeps you movin and ya get plenty of excercise! As far as the company you will find NONE BETTER they are H & M Trucking out of Omaha Ne...just check out their face page to see what I mean or hit me up and I'll be glad to answer any questions I can..GOOD LUCK OUT THERE KEEPER SAFE!

So it looks like I have to go with Western Express because I haven't used my CDL in in about 2 years and I'm considered to be uneducated in the trucking community. I'll admit I don't know everything that all you drivers know, but I earned my CDL and know how to use it. So because I don't want to waste more money and another 160 hours I'll have to suffer with WE for at least 3 months to jump on with another company. Unless someone on here can point me in the right direction.

I live in Connecticut but am willing to relocate. I have a TWIC also

There's others. Prime is a hell of a lot better than Western Express. They are a true bottom of the barrel company for the derelicts out here. Try Prime. Since you're a vet, quite a few should be willing to look at you. Prime, TMC, Melton, Schnieder to name a few. Even Swift. No reason for a military man to go work for Western Express. Thanks for your service and please look into those companies. You're really selling yourself short of that's who you decide on.
