Anybody ever had an issue with one? In 30 years workin on trucks I've never seen one fail.

I've got an odd pulsating vibration in the engine. I feel it most from 12-1700 RPM's, when I'm either maintaining throttle or coasting. Can also idle up and feel it.

Clutch operation does not affect it, so I'm thinking pressure plate, pilot bearing, flywheel, or balancer.

They certainly can. It is hard to diagnose because they have no external signs many times. They can dry up or harden up internally or rubber ones start to separate.

They are supposed to replaced every 500,000 miles according to Pittsburgh Power. They got their info from design engineer at Cummins.

Oh yeah, however, on my BCs, they rattled and shook, I never knew anything was wrong, and never replaced one. I do know many Cat motors had a lot of problems.

I'm just gonna replace it. Not many factory ones around. VanderHaags shows one in Sioux Falls. Might try to get a load that way in the morning

Back when I had my own truck I had S60 Detroit. After listening to Pittsburgh Power guys I replace mine and put the Harmonic balancer they also sold. I noticed a difference right away. Sometimes I read stories about guys engines keeping braking like a/c bolts and stuff. If you ask most shops people say they never go bad. I probably had about 800,000 miles on my truck before I hear about replacing them.

Shopping around is best. When I bought mine, I wound up getting it from Pittsburgh Power because it was cheapest at the time. Most recently I think I saw the cheapest at Raney's.
