Removing sand from river bottoms destroys the natural flow of the river and will eventually destroy the river. -

When i was on the river in '69, RMK-BMJ had two dredges working constantly to keep the main river channel opened from the sea all the way to the Cambodian border. They did not pump to the shore, just out of the main channel.
