    ^^^ THIS ^^^

My company drills this BASIC information into our thick skulls in a weekly safety meeting. Yet STILL there are drivers getting nailed for dumb ####, like not having the instructions in their permit binder.

Anyone that is a fleet owner has to take responsibility for making sure all their drivers are squared away with that basic stuff. Do a "stand down until you bring your binder in for a review". Our company did and it stopped the idiocy.

I still remember the guy that brought his "binder" in for review a few months ago. Fist fulls of wadded up papers. How the #### would that not say ""Give me a ticket" to a DOT officer?

When I ran electrical work, I learned early on most people just like to work.

They tend not to pay attention to small, but important details.

So you try to "Idiot" proof things.

That's not really a good description, because they weren't necessarily dumb, just kinda go blow through the day.

The boss is more focused, as he is aware that little actions have consequences that eat up time / money.

So just bullet proof it the best you can.

If it can't be corrected by preventive measures, then the next step is punishment.

I can’t believe all this fuss over 1 point. I guess maybe if you were 1 point away from a conditional rating or something, but 1 point is very minor.

    bribe
    verb

"an undercover agent bribed the judge into giving a lenient sentence"
synonyms: buy off, pay off, suborn; More
    noun

    1. a sum of money or other inducement offered or given in this way.
      synonyms: inducement, incentive, payola; More

Yep, sounds like a bribe to me. May be common in your neck of the woods, but it's still a bribe. All over 1 point on a companies CSA score....
