    The newly elected governor, says he will have all rest areas reopened. its supposed to take up to 90 days from when he takes office (jan 16 i believe) to get them all going again.

    A real dumb move by Kaine, just to save 9 million dollars. Now, I wonder how much it is going to cost to re-open the rest areas. These states, such as Va., "strain at a gnat and swallow a camel".

    They did away with the 2 hour limit when the did the closures, let's hope it stays that way! But now Maryland is limiting the hours on some of their rest areas, and gating them closed during those hours, at night, when they are needed the most!

    I just saw on the news last night that Govenor Bob McDonald is opening back up the Virginia Rest Areas. He's fired the old head of VDOT and going in for some changes. I believe he's raising the speed limit in rural areas too. Does anybody know for sure?
