Visible and Not-Able-To-Hide Tattoos?

I've been looking around at trucking companies to throw applications at and I'm finding several that actually have strict No Visible Tattoos policies. Seems they don't ever mention them on their sites tho. You mostly have to browse around the web to find this out. I've found a few that have policies but does anyone else know of any companies that have strict policies against visible tattoos? And, fyi, there is no chance some of them can be covered...

    Thanks.

Couple questions, how many tats do you have and what are they of?Companies have this policy I spose because they have to keep a professional image to their customers.Drivers only check in then sit in the trk so I don't see why it matters. They have a no tattoo policy then they should also have a clean hygiene policy.

I'm curious as to what companies, I've never been asked that question before and I can't imagine keeping it a secret so you show up to orientation and they have to send you packing??!! Seems counterproductive and expensive!

When I worked at Schneider there was a dude who had a middle finger tattooed on the back of his head. I'm tatted down and I've never had a problem getting work.

Nothing offensive. But the back of one hand (exploding claymore mine), my neck (Latin script), and my knuckles (Slug Life) are the ones I'm worried about. Everything else can be covered.

I've seen proof that Averitt requires all tattoos are able to be hidden and I THINK TMC is another one that requires coverable (I just made that a word!) tattoos.
    Thanks.

I never heard of that. Maybe someone to the extreme like lion guy scared the crap out of someone along with other issues and he is posting on the internet. Suddenly one person becomes the whole world. They don't tell you about the drug convictions and what other baggage they have. Don't trust everything you read unless there are others to back up the claim.

We get that stuff on here occasionally. That company sucks. I don't know why they fired me, they kept my last paycheck too.
It turns out the driver ran over a car and left the scene. They also had 4 cash advances. :)

I worked for a food service company that had that policy. They didn't want ANY tattoos even if they are covered. Most of the heavily tattooed drivers I've seen are flatbedders. I was a flatbedder also and you don't usually deal with the general public or food warehouses. Usually at construction sites, steel mills, etc. Take a look at Howard Transportation or Cypress Truck Lines with terminals in the Carolinas. .

    Flatbed companies :

    Rinaudo Enterprise
    Falcon Transport
    System Transport (trans-system)
    Melton Truck Lines
    Boyd Brothers
    Maverick
    ATS
    Western Express
    Howard Transportation
    Watkins & Shepard (flatbed division)

I hate needles. Seen some wonderful tattoo's Skill in trucking should matter. Neck tattoo's worry me. Just me. To the untrained customer, Danger. They don't understand, the product is there. The length of my hair don't matter. My beard is over my chest. Your load is here.
