I use Vitamix too everyday morning is strawberry, raspberry, bluebbery, cranberry, orange, plain yogurt and organic apple juice.

Later in the day i use whatever i could find mostly green stuff lettuce, avocado,celery,brocoli.....let the beast spin 7-8 mins and i am back on saddle with my warm lunch in a cup.

My diet is not purely liquid, whenever i pass by a good mexican restaurant i can't resist!

So how do you clean you're kitchen aid?
I'm fixing to start my paleo plan again and wanted to make smoothies.

I hate wasting so much water every time i use it. I usually carry 4 gallons of water and a case of bottled water to drink.

Bottled water for drinking while driving and the gallon water for my best investment the aeropress.

I use two buckets. One is soapy, the other is rinse, so I don't end up pouring out so much water. When I'm done with the blender, I run water and soap through it on chop for 30 seconds and pour that out. Then i wash the outside of the pitcher, wash the lid and wipe everything dry and assemble it before stowing it away from the motor. I roll my pitcher up in a towel and keep it in one of the buckets so it's protected. The motor stays under my bunk in a plastic milk crate. One of the sales people at the store recommended that I keep them separately so the blade interface doesn't get messed up from bouncing around.

I just picked up one of those things at a garage sale and it came with all the bottles and attachments and they were only asking five bucks for the whole kit.

How do you all clean your vitamix ? Do you keep a lot of water on board for cleaning it ? and where do you dump it when you clean it ?

Everybody has to shower once a day right? That's probably the best time to wash your dishes

I'm still blending smoothies off and on. I've been moved off OTR so I'm home a lot more and I can run it at home. I cook ahead when I know I'm going to be out for a few days.

The way I cleaned in the truck is basically the way you described. One bucket was soapy water and the clean bucket was how I washed and rinsed things. I also put soap and water in the blender jar and ran it to clean the blades.

Since I'm at home, the jar, lid and blade assembly go in the dishwasher. :)
