VNL 860 LED strip in headlights not working, change the assembly?

So the L-shaped LED strip in the headlight of my VNL 860 stopped working. I was told that I need to replace the whole assembly.
Does anyone know if there is a way to repair the LED or replace that part of the assembly without having to replace the whole thing?
