I would just block egrs (tube between egr cooler and intake manifold) for now and see if it helps..

had the same problem: truck was powerless and even empty had problem to accelerate.. if it is one of the egrs this plug will help you

since you have no codes, engine is not derrated and you can drive with that plug almost "forever"

The plug will save your EGR's, but your engine temperature will go down and this is not good for the fuel economy. Winter time will be a big problem. Summer time will be ok. I was doing the same for over a year. Nothing wrong just no good fuel economy winter time. You will need to change the thermostat with different one probably.

Disabling or blocking valves WILL NOT affect engine operating temp!!!! The only issue in the winter is that it takes a little longer to warm up at idle. Solve this by bumping up your idle speed. You can notice INCREASED mpg depending on driving habits also. Minimum operating temp on a d12 (per Volvo) is 170 degrees so no need to change anything. The stock thermostat is fine. It will maintain operating temp once achieved

Mine did that till I blocked the egr. I had that plug in for about a year. Recently had to take off egr piping and such to change turbo and now the egr valves are working again. Damnest thing...maybe the bumping around of the parts removed some carbon buildup or something. I don't know.

i have a 2000 freightliner detroit 12.7. No EGR and today it did the white smoke hard start while outside was like -10F in PA. I bet its leaking seals somewhere. I think its antifreeze getting into cylinders cause this stuff doesnt burn nicely. engine struggles to even keep running

Ya but it was freezing cold outside you are lucky a Detroit even started in that temp first thing is do u have coolant consumption without any leaks. The second thing u want to check do you have pressure built up in the cooling system and third thing make sure no fuel in the coolant very possible burnt head gasket we had one in the shop today it actually broke a couple of head bolts and started making pressure in the cooling system

How do i check if i have pressure built up in the cooling system? I did coolant analysis and it was clean. no fuel or such stuff in the coolant. I am losing coolant but my truck is such piece of crap that there are small leaks of every fluid everywhere lol... Thanks

Hi guy. I have Cascadia 2011 DD15 and NO DEF. After the engine warms up ad driving on interstate half hour it starts to loose power and black smoking when you accelerating... no codes, no check engine light. I see two mechanics (tested on computer) and no one couldn't figure it out what is going on. Any ideas? Tnx
